With some sorrow we are announcing that 2019 will be our last season as owners of Shropshire Lavender.
Our little company (that started as a hobby with zero financial investment) has had so much support over the years, that it’s become quite a success with many loyal customers.
However, what many of our customers may not realise is that this project has been run solely by the two of us since 2006 – along with some outstanding voluntary support from friends and family.
It’s now 2019, and as we’ve passed retirement age, we feel it’s time to hang up our secateurs and move on to pastures new.
We’ve had a fantastic journey, some highlights include the running of a Medieval Fair over several years. We’ve featured on many BBC Radio programs, been interviewed by BBC Midlands Today, been a location on Celebrity Antiques Roadshow and many articles written in county magazines (such as shropshire Life and Shropshire Magazine) and local newspapers. We also sponsored the Lavender Garden stand at Hampton Court Flower Show (for which the designers were awarded a gold medal), and have supported a few local community enrichment programs.
Over the summer we’ll be posting a few stories and our favourite memories from our years as lavender farmers.
However – while we plan to retire from the backbreaking labours of lavender farming, we still have plans to continue running our online store selling soaps, creams and other body-care products (details TBC).
We hope you join us for our next instalment.
